Courtney Piccoli has been a leader in the Lincoln dance and theatre arts community for well over two decades. Courtney is one of the very few dance teachers in Nebraska to earn her associates in Imperial Classical Ballet.  This provides Lincoln students a vetted, exam based curriculum where students and parents alike can be assured they are receiving professional instruction in a curriculum that is internationally vetted.  Miss Courtney certified in Progressing Ballet Technique  as well, which she incorporates into her program for additional core strength and flexibility training.

In 2015, Courtney was awarded the City of Lincoln’s Mayors Arts Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Performing Arts. She has been honored to direct and choreograph Pinewood Bowl’s theatre productions over the last thirteen years. Courtney is a regular guest director and choreographer at the Lincoln Community Playhouse where she was recently recognized at their celebration of 70 years of the Playhouse.

In the mid nineties, Courtney moved to Kansas City, Missouri to teach, choreograph, and perform professionally. Since returning to Lincoln in 2000, she has taught dance at several top dance studios, winning several choreography awards. She was also a multiple year rehearsal assistant for the Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company’s Nutcracker.

Many of the students Courtney has taught and mentored have gone to work professionally in the ballet and musical theatre worlds. Some of  her favorite ‘odd’ jobs have been: various radio jingles and television commercials for local businesses, voice overs for ‘Back to the Bible’, and the role of ‘The Choreographer’ for an episode of TLC’s Perfect Proposals.

Perhaps most important, Courtney has a daughter who has been a nationally competitive dancer. She knows the good, the bad, the stresses, and the joys of bringing up a child in the world of dance.
