Caitie Cornelius graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in May 2015 and grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. She majored in Communication Studies with minors in Marketing and Human Resource Management. Caitie started dancing at age three and studied dance in Lincoln for 15 years, dancing competitively for six of those years.
Caitie is certified in the AcroArts curriculum and is trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, musical theater, lyrical, modern, contemporary, improvisation, tap, and tumbling. She was a company dancer in Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company’s (LMBC) production of The Nutcracker, and danced in LMBC’s production of Snow White in 2010 and 2012. Caitie went to Lincoln Southwest High School and participated in the Emeralds Dance Team. She has spent eleven consecutive summers performing and working with Pinewood Bowl, Inc. productions. Some of her favorite shows were Hairspray (2013) and 42nd Street (2015). Alongside performing, she was the Rehearsal Assistant for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and the Dance Captain for Hairspray.
At Nebraska Wesleyan, Caitie was a New Student Orientation Leader, Ambassador and was on the NWU Gold Rush Dance Team for four years. She also served as a captain for the dance team during her senior year and helped lead Gold Rush to earn the title of GPAC Dance Champion. Caitie has taught dance and gymnastics in the Lincoln area for the last six years. Caitie is extremely excited to be teaching dance alongside some of her best friends and former teachers at Piccoli Dance Theatre!
